| Shogunz Dominated Dec 5th 2006 Stats * Multimedia * Comment Christian celebrated as he led Shogunz to walk all over the Hurricanes. It wasn't much of a contest. Shogunz proved to be too much for Hurricanes, as they exploited Hurricanes' weak transition defense and stretched the lead to 20 points at one point. New player acquisition, Shi Mei, immediately contributed to his new team as he scored 32 points, his career high at BasketballCity. Christian raced to 24 points and Johnson added 15 points. Ricky Kim poured in 31 points for the losing effort. This was the first blowout loss for Hurricanes, and it would be interesting to see if the team would respond next week with a more spirited play. Demolition had trouble against Giants, last season's finalist. Adding a new back court, Giants was on fire throughout the game and Demolition had trouble keeping up. After a closely contested 1st half, Demolition couldn't match Giant's offensive production after the break and eventually lost by 20 points. Kevin Woo scored most his points in the 1st half and finished with 28 points. Ocho added in 17 points. Last season, Demolition also started off slow in their first game, but then it went on to a four game winning streak. Can they do it again? |

| Hurricanes Responded Dec 11th 2006 Stats * Multimedia * Comment Chanan Saelim attempted a three pointers over Chi Lai's out-stretched arm. After a no-show against Shogunz, Hurricanes responded with a quality win. Before the game, Hurricanes talked about playing better defense and hustling back to stop the fast break. During the game, Hurricanes repeatedly trapped Ocho, Kevin Woo, and Chi Lai and limited Demolition to 21 second half points and 49 points overall. On the offensive end, Ricky Kim was again magnificent as he torched anyone who tried to defend him and finished with 26 points. Chanan Saelim added 12 points and controlled the tempo extremely well. For Demolition, Kevin Woo led the squad with 18 points and Ocho chipped in 12 points. To get started again, Demolition needs to get Chi Lai back into grove and out of the slump. Che Yii with a great post move! Playing without its captain Johnson "MVP" Lam, Shogunz was led by Christian Tran, who scored 19 points. However, that was not enough as they fell behind by significant margin after a competitive first half. Nevertheless, Canesblog.com welcome back two Hurricane members. It was great to see them play again!!! Dan Moy Cory Moy |
