Demolition Climbed to the Top Spot Jan 28th 2007
Behind Ocho's 19 points and Kevin's 16 points, Demolition defeated Shogunz in a
closely-contested game. Unfortunately, I can't provide a game report since I had to
host a company conference all last week.
This week, Shi & Co. looked to bounce back without Johnson Lam against
short-handed Hurricanes. Unfortunately, I won't be able to play again due to a
stress fracture injury to my right ankle. I will likely be shelved for 2 to 4 weeks. Shi,
you are lucky that I can't chop your head again!! =)

End of Losing Streak Jan 30th 2007 Stats * Comment
Victor Chow vs. Danny Moy
At last, the losing streak is O-V-E-R!!! Hurricanes (formerly 2K4) finally earned a
victory at the expense of their arch-nemeses -- Shogunz -- and kept their playoff
hope alive for one more week.
In the first half, despite playing without its leading scorer Johnson Lam, Shogunz
shared the ball and got offensive contribution from everyone. However, towards the
end of first half, Hurricanes 2K4 switched up the defense and began trapping
Shogunz at the half court. This change of tempo caught Shogunz by surprise and
helped 2K4 gained a 7 point advantage. Yet, several key turnovers in the final
minute of the half allowed Shogunz to cut 2K4's lead down to 3 points to 31-28.
In the second half, Ricky Kim turned up a notch, and with the trapping defense,
2K4 was able to stretch the lead to 8 points. Refusing to lose, Shogunz began
pressuring the 2K4 and effectively stopping 2K4's offense. As Albert and Shi
combined for 15 second half points, Shogunz was smelling a comeback.
Unfortunately, the time ran out and Victor's free throw shooting iced the game, as
2K4 won by 6 points, 62-56. Ricky Kim had game-high 28 points, and Shi Mei had
team-high 11 points. Shogunz will have to look to next week to clinch the playoff.
Meanwhile, 2K4 needs to win all its remaining games to make the playoff.
Ralph Chiang hit a jumper Cory Moy hit a tough three
While Shogunz and Hurricanes 2K4 were battling each other, Demolition clinched
the playoff by beating Giants by 3 points. Behind Ocho's 27 points and Kevin
Woo's 25 points, Demolition led at the half by 21 points. However, in the second
half, Giants was able to get back into the game by getting out on the break and
dominating the offensive rebounds. Yet, Kevin's 16 second half points and his key
three pointer at the end of the game helped Demolition survive Giant's furious
comeback. Next week, Demolition looked to avenge the loss to 2K4 earlier this
season and end 2K4's playoff hope.
