In Search of a Win Jan 16th 2007                                                              Stats * Comment

Chanan Saelim took his men off the dribble with a crossover.

The losing streak is now up to 4. There are many reasons for this dire fate: the big
men were not rebounding, guards turning the ball over, guys unable to hit open
shots, and everyone forcing the issue. Whatever the reason may be, the
Hurricanes are lacking confidence and forgetting how to win. Last night, like most
nights in this lost season, the Hurricanes were able to keep the game close, yet
slowly but surely, Year Ups were able to add to their lead and maintain a 10 point
edge until the final buzzer. This will stop now!!! Next week, the Hurricanes will try to
rebuild their confidence against the depleted PWC. Sneakers will be worn, shots be
made, names be taken... Next Tuesday, the Hurricanes guarantee a victory.

Shogunz, behind Christian Tran's and Johnson Lam's 19 points apiece, had no
problem with the depleted PWC, who had two players ejected for the season due to
last week's fight against Desmond & Kevin Co. Meanwhile, MJ Remodel walked all
over the Demolition, when D's second leading scorer, Ocho, went down on an
ankle sprain early in the 1st half. Despite that, Alan Yu had one of his finest games
as he led the team with 10 points, and Steve Nang had a career-high with 6 points,
including a three-pointer and many offensive rebounds. He needs to play more!!!

Looking forward to next Tuesday, the coveted match-up between the Demolition
and Shogunz will begin at 6:15PM. Emotion will be high for this game due largely to
several controversial trades between the teams over the off-season. In an
apparent in-fighting, Shi Mei and Albert Chin disapproved of Desmond's slow-down
game style and forced their way to team up with Shogunz, betraying their UMass
root. Meanwhile, Desmond had no faith in Cory & Dan Moy, and subsequently
traded them to Shogunz even though Cory was Demolition's only PG option.
Nevertheless, Demolition could care less about those that departed because they
have added super-scorer, Ocho, and the Taiwanese Pride, Ralph Chiang.

The key X-factors of the game...
- Will Shi, Cory and Ocho shake off their injury and play big?
- Will Myla Tran, Dan Liu and Chi Lai continue their recent spirited peformance?
- Will Desmond Lui be vindicated for his GM ability?

My prediction is Shogunz by 10 points because Demolition will have a rough time
overcoming the added motivation from the Fantastic Four (Cory, Dan, Shi and Al)!

Stay tune for next week....
