Shogunz Finished Second Mar 8th 2007                          Box Scores * Comment

                               Shogunz finished second place

Shogunz, like Demolition, also couldn't solve Year Up's 2-3 zone as Shogunz
struggled to score and finished second place in 2007 BasketballCity Winter
League. Hats off to Year Up, who played a very impressive brand of basketball.

I would like to take this chance to congratulate Shogunz for an outstanding season.
This season featured the return of Dan Moy and Cory Moy and the addition of
Charles Manekias, Shi Mei and Albert Chin. These 5 players, along with Dan Liu
and Myla Tran, provided much needed support to Johnson Lam and Christian Tran
and allowed Sammy Moy more flexibility to manage the lineup.

As we move on to the next season, Shogunz will temporarily say goodbye for now,
as Hurricanes prepare for the National tournament. Nevertheless, I have a feeling
that we haven't seen the last of Shogunz!

Charles Manekias Returned to Help Shogunz Advance

After four straight losses to MJ Remodel, #5 seed Shogunz upset the top seed MJ
Remodel in last night's 2007 BasketballCity semifinal game. Shogunz came out the
gate very aggressive, hitting 3 straight three-pointers and opening a 9-0 lead.
Paced by Christian Tran and Sammy Moy, Shogunz was able to maintain its 9 point
advantage throughout the 1st half. When MJ extended its defense in the second
half, the floor opened up for Johnson Lam to create, and Johnson didn't disappoint
as he poured in 20 points and made sure Shogunz advance to the championship
game. Shi Mei and Albert Chin were the unsung heroes who limited MJ's top player
Polansky to a mere 8 points. This was a significant victory as Shogunz once again
proved to be best Hurricanes team and lived up to the pre-season expectation of
being one of the real championship contenders.

In the other game, Demolition's offense disappeared and scored just 29 points for
the game. It was one of those games when none of the players on Demolition could
hit any shots. Nevertheless, considered that Demolition started the season 0-3, a
#3 seed and a final four finish should be considered a terrific comeback!

So the championship game is set as Shogunz will face Year Up this Thursday
night! Be sure to come back and see who will win the championship game.
