Feature Player of the Week - Johnson Lam  Sep 14th 2006
Every week, we will feature a Hurricanes Player. (For full lineup, <click here>) This
week's feature player is
Employee #8 Johnson Lam.

Like Scottie Pippen, Johnson is perhaps the most complete player for the
Hurricanes. At 5-11, he can pass, shoot, handle and post. He also usually guards
the best player on the opposing team. Last season, he averaged 21 points a game
at the point guard position for Hurricanes X and scored 28 points in the final.

Johnson began playing basketball when he was 12 years old. He started at center
in his junior year for his high school varsity team that went 1-15. He did not play in
his senior year. Nevertheless, his best playing days were ahead of him. He teamed
up with Dan and Myla to form the 1st generation Shogunz, which had the best
uniform in the circuit. As Johnson led Shogunz into battles against legends like
Ribs, Ricky and Oak, he began to develop the reputation as the best Asian player
in Boston. Finally, in 1999, Johnson was recruited to Boston Hurricanes AAU. With
him anchoring the starting small forward position, Hurricanes' guard play improved
significantly. His best moment came as he scored  8 points during a pivotal 17-4
run to give Hurricanes an 11 point lead in the National Championship game.

Johnson in his own words...
Favorite Player: Michael Jordan

Favorite Hurricanes: Hing "Ribs" Lin because he always play good defense and
pass me the ball.

Favorite Hurricanes Offense: 41-J

Favorite Canes moment: Taking over CYC and winning the national!

Funniest Canes moment: In Montreal when Dez fell on his ass peddling backward.
